ACIE – The Shareholders' and Investors' Centre

INTRODUCTION
ACIE, Australian Centre for Investor Education, was established in 2001 to provide investors and potential investors with a venue that could be used for meetings, networking and private research. Members of ACIE discuss topics that educate investors new to the world of finance and to challenge people more experienced in the investment world.

The Shareholders’ and Investors’ Centre is located within The BEARS office and is available for use by its members Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 5.00pm.

SOME ACTIVITIES AND RESOURCES AVAILABLE
Meetings are held on the second and forth Wednesdays of each month (except December) at The Irish Club. Guest speakers include representatives from –
  • Financial entities - including institutions, planners, advisers, superannuation experts, accountants, retirement planners;
  • Companies listed on the Australian Stock Exchange;
  • Stockbroking organisations;
  • Economic analysts and researchers;
  • Journalists; and
  • Government and regulatory bodies.
  • Universities and research departments.

A professional library is available to our members and contains relevant books, company reports and financial magazines useful in making financial investment decisions.

Other services include photocopying, minor secretarial services, kitchen facilities, offices to meet with professional advisors and fax, telephone and internet access.

MEMBERSHIP
Corporate Members provide displays of their products. The Centre does not endorse the products on display but encourages members to conduct their own analysis and research to make informed decisions.

Personal Members pay an annual membership fee which includes –
  • Attendance at all ˝ day seminars and workshops
  • Regular newsletters by mail and email
  • Access to and borrowing from a professional library
  • Other services as described above.

Couple or Family Membership$231.00
